Landcare opening up data for hackathon

Our friends at Callaghan Innovation, Landcare Research and Sqore, in collaboration with Air New Zealand and Icebreaker, proudly introduces the Nature Hack to the Sprout community! A weekend hackathon taking place next month (Nov 6-8), the event is designed for creatives, designers and coders ready to build and launch new web services and apps.

This hackathon enables New Zealanders and other global citizens to promote conservation - and young, talented entrepreneurs to create new value. At its core, Nature Hack provides unique data on the living species and environments special to New Zealand, in the hope of creating tech that matters. The information will be sourced from several nationally significant science collections Landcare Research cares for on behalf of New Zealand. A secret location (picking up and dropping off from Wellington), tech experts on scene and prizes from Air New Zealand and Icebreaker make Nature Hack an unexpected, unique opportunity to do great things.

Registrations close on October 21, so assemble a dream team of up to three, or take destiny into your own hands now!
