Germinate is a 7-week, group-based programme delivered by Sprout for scientists, researchers and post-graduate students in collaboration with leading Universities and Research Institutes. Germinate provides the tools and know-how for researchers to develop impactful, commercially viable solutions to real-world problems.
The Germinate programme consists of workshops and mentoring, and concludes with a presentation day.
Connecting Innovators with industry
Researchers bring their innovative idea or project to Germinate for customer validation. Following an initial workshop, Germinate guides researchers through the process of gathering customer insights.
Interviews with industry contacts are central to the Germinate process. Only through a deep understanding of the customer can researchers truly validate the problem their innovation seeks to solve.
Growing the Capability of Researchers
Whether a researcher is a post-grad student or a career scientist, Germinate is designed to help researchers think like an entrepreneur.
The tools and skills researchers gain during Germinate can also be applied to ensure the success of future research projects.
Participants have access to the commercial expertise of the Sprout team, mentors, and industry network. Furthermore, Universities and Research Institutes can utilise the insights gained from Germinate to inform internal validation and decision-making.
