Stephen has considerable experience in corporate governance of early-stage hi-tech ventures.
Stephen has been involved in Investment banking and capital raising for over 30 years. He is an active agritech angel investor. Stephen is a director of Koru Biotech Solutions Ltd., an animal health diagnostics and therapeutics startup and Sprout Alumni.
Stephen has co-founded two companies, which he took through multiple capital raises to successfully list on the ASX through IPOs (raising $30M). He has also managed the exit of entrepreneurs and investors through the sale of tech businesses. He currently chairs the board of MyMahi Ltd., an EdTech start-up focused on teenager wellbeing.
Stephen assists in the management of MIG Angels, the Manawatu-based angel club. Through this he actively invests in early-stage ventures. In the past, he has acted on behalf of the Crown Law Office as an expert witness on many tax cases, contributing to saving many $m.
Stephen has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics, an MSc (Numerical analysis) from Otago University, and an MBA from AGSM in Sydney.
